Knights of Columbus Council #2208 at 174 N. Main Street, New Haven, KY 40051 US - Bishop Charles G. Maloney Council #2208 Welcomes New Grand Knight

Bishop Charles G. Maloney Council #2208 Welcomes New Grand Knight

Bishop Charles G. Maloney Council #2208 is very pleased to announce that Worthy Knight Jeremy Martin will serve as our Grand Knight starting on December 01, 2009. Congratulations, Grand Knight Martin, from all your brother Knights at Council 2208. We also want to thank Grand Knight Mark A.Cesare for serving as our Grand Knight since 2006. Please read message below.

Dear Worthy Brother Knights,

I've wanted to step down as the Grand Knight of Council #2208 for some time, but I felt that we needed to have a smooth transition from our previous Pastor and Chaplain to our new Pastor and Chaplain, Father Hamilton. I was planning on staying the Grand Knight for the entire year, but I know from experience that our new Grand Knight would need to get his feet wet before the next fraternal year starts in July 2010...You all know Jeremy Martin and He will be a great Grand Knight and is already courageous and forthright and a tribute to our Council. WE will have to vote into office a new outside guard at our next meeting on December 14th at 7pm because that was Jeremy's previous office.  At the November meeting, November 9th, we voted unanimously to have Jeremy Martin replace me for the duration of this fraternal year. He is our new Grand Knight as of December 1st, 2009. Please congratulate him by coming to our next meeting on December 14th-the Feast of St. John of the Cross....The Grand Knight wears the Anchor as the symbol of his office, hopefully we can all pitch in together and make sure that it doesn't weigh too much on our Worthy Brother Jeremy Martin GK.
God Bless all of you and your families and I just want to say that you have all made me grow in my faith in God by your kindness, goodness, and unselfish acts of Charity.  I will continue to be an active member of our Council and will help Jeremy "get his feet wet."  gk Mark
