The Iron Horse Festival in New Haven, Kentucky is a once a year event in which all kinds of vendors and activities take place in and around the town in celebration of the train station and all that smalltown USA offers....The Knights of Columbus Bishop Charles G. Maloney Council of New Haven has had a booth at this fall festival every year since it's reorganization in 2006. We again had a booth, but we weren't serving ice cream or candie apples or cold drinks like we have done in the past...We were selling chances on a Shotgun and chances on a new car or $14,000.00 Cash option. There were four dedicated Knights that spent all day talking to people and selling chances for a total of 35 man hours of peddling raffle tickets. We sold 21 chances on a new car for $20.00 a chance. And we sold 215 chances on a Shotgun at $1.00 a chance. We chit chatted with alot of friends and strangers about our Council as well.
