In announcing the local winner of the Double-Star Council Award, Carl A. Anderson, chief executive officer of the Knights of Columbus, said, "Please accept my sincere congratulations upon attaining this prestigious award, Your dedication to the Order is seen in the high standard of excellence you have achieved. At the same time, I encourage you to carry forward this enthusiasm to meet the challenges that will face the Knights of Columbus in the years ahead. May this award be a reminder and an inspiration to the members of your Council to continue to promote the ideals of Columbianism for the good of the Church, your community, and the Order."
"I've told this to the guys in our Council before. We don't do the things that we do for awards. This award would not be possible except that we have such a great group of guys. And I want to thank all our wives, and I want to especially thank our good Chaplain Fr. Leger, because without him none of this would have been possible. The real goal of our Council is for all of the members to make it to heaven," said, the Grand Knight, Mark Cesare after receiving the Double-Star Council Award from District Deputy, John Schwoebel.
