Knights of Columbus Council #2208 at 174 N. Main Street, New Haven, KY 40051 US - Monthly Knights of Columbus Breakfast
| Monthly Knights of Columbus Breakfast |
This is a monthly event that we do at St. Catherine's Cafeteria in New Haven, Kentucky on the third Sunday of every month from 8am- 12 noon.
The Director for this monthly happening is Robert E. Rowlett, our Financial Secretary and our Community Breakfast Chairman. You can contact Bob Rowlett for more information at 502-549-3923. We usually have between 5 and 10 of our Knights prepare the Breakfast for the 3rd Sunday of every month. Each month on the 3rd Sunday we come early around 6:30 am to do preparations for the Breakfast, whether it be pancakes with sausage patties or Sausage gravy on Biscuits with Scrambled eggs or on one occasion we had a variety of donuts with hot coffee for breakfast after the 10 am Mass.. Most of the time we serve breakfast from 8am-12 noon on the 3rd Sunday of every month. All in all it takes between 20-30 man hours of work for each breakfast that we put on for our 2 parishes and the neighboring community. We have a variety of regular customers from the area come just for the Breakfast, which is only $2.00 a person for all you can eat pancakes or Sausage gravy & biscuits. Many times people are very generous in giving us donations because they know the meal is worth much more than $2.00. We usually serve between 80-120 people on the 3rd Sunday of every month. This is our way of bringing the Community together and helping build friendships with those outside of our Parish. If you want the total man hours for this community service for the year: it is around 340 man hours for us to do this once a month for the entire year.
